Composed of a series of thirteen photographs arranged at random, the installation offers the opportunity to travel through time and space, to uncover new memories or relive old ones. It engages two of the most powerful sensory stimuli—sight and smell—to guide the viewer through twenty-three years of personal memories and experiences that have shaped my life as a young adult. Although the style and locations photographed are intimate, the viewer is invited to find personal resonance, either through the images or the scents they associate with them. Thus, the smell of the train station may awaken memories of reuniting with family during the holidays; the image of the maternity ward might bring back the face of your mother; and the scent of warm bread and milk may return you to the school corridors of your childhood.
